Meet The Green Hammer Team

Marcel Green | Founder

Marcel has been coordinating roofing projects across Colorado since 2018, helping homeowners navigate insurance claims, roof replacements, and complex builds with integrity and attention to detail. His journey into roofing was forged through hard work in some of Colorado’s toughest industries.

He learned his foundational construction skills in the oil fields of eastern Colorado. That experience built not only his technical skill set but also a deep respect for safety, accountability, and doing the job right the first time. From there, Marcel took his pipefitting skills into the water treatment industry.

Protecting homes, helping families recover after storms, and building something lasting in his own community is what ultimately led him to launch Green Hammer Roofing & Construction.

Marcel is a family man and a proud father of five. He and his wife, Molly, live on five acres atop Shadow Mountain in Conifer, Colorado. In his free time you’ll find him outdoors with his family four-wheeling, dirt biking, or simply enjoying mountain life.

His mother, Teri, who served in the Army for 20 years, also lives on the property and plays an active role in family life. She helps with the grandkids and brings the same sense of service and discipline that shaped Marcel’s work ethic.

Marcel has worked alongside his partner Neil since 2018. Together, their goal is to become the go-to roofing company for Jefferson County and the surrounding Colorado communities.

At Green Hammer a handshake means something.

FAQ

We Are Here To Help You With Any Questions You May Have

Yes. Green Hammer pulls all required permits and ensures your project passes all local building inspections. We are familiar with Jefferson County and surrounding municipalities’ codes and requirements. From tear-off to final inspection, we make sure your roof system is fully code-compliant and properly documented.

We install complete roofing systems using high-performance synthetic underlayment and Class 4 impact-resistant shingles designed for Colorado hail and wind. Class 4 shingles offer the highest level of impact resistance available and may qualify homeowners for insurance discounts. We also ensure proper flashing, ventilation, and drainage integration for long-term durability.

Yes. We have been coordinating roofing projects in Colorado since 2018 and regularly work with insurance estimates and supplements. We review scope, meet with adjusters when necessary, and make sure all approved damage is properly addressed. Our goal is to restore your home correctly — not cut corners to meet a number.

Green Hammer is locally owned and operated in Conifer, Colorado. We live in the same community we serve. Our background in oilfield construction and water treatment instilled a strong work ethic, attention to safety, and systems-based thinking. We believe in quality materials, clear communication, and doing the job right the first time.

At Green Hammer, a handshake still means something.

Yes. A roof is a system, not just shingles. We replace and properly integrate critical components such as pipe boots, step flashing, counter flashing, drip edge, valley metal (when applicable), and ridge ventilation. Proper flashing and ventilation are essential to prevent leaks, ice damming, and premature shingle failure. If components are compromised, they are replaced — not reused to save time or cost.

After tear-off, we inspect the decking for rot, delamination, or structural weakness. Any compromised sheathing is replaced to ensure a solid fastening surface for the new roofing system. We document hidden damage when working on insurance projects and submit supplements when necessary. A roof is only as strong as the structure beneath it, and we don’t build over problems.

We offer full exterior services including gutter repair and replacement, siding repair and installation, paint and stain services, and wildfire mitigation systems through our partnership with WaveGuard Wildfire Mitigation Solutions. This allows us to address the entire exterior envelope of your home — not just the shingles.

Proper drainage starts with evaluating roof pitch, square footage, valley concentration areas, and runoff flow. We install seamless aluminum gutter systems sized appropriately for the home — typically 5” or 6” depending on water volume demands. Hanger spacing is reinforced to handle Colorado snow loads, and pitch is carefully set to prevent standing water. Downspouts are positioned to direct water away from foundations and landscaping to reduce erosion and moisture intrusion.

Wildfires often spread through wind-driven embers that land on rooftops, in valleys, along eaves, and around combustible materials near the structure. Through our partnership with WaveGuard, we install engineered roof-mounted sprinkler systems designed to create a moisture barrier over the most vulnerable ignition points.

Systems are custom-designed based on roof slope, layout, water source, and surrounding vegetation. By maintaining surface moisture during high-risk conditions, the system helps reduce ember ignition potential and slow radiant heat impact — providing valuable time and an added layer of defense.

Fire-retardant coatings are specially formulated treatments applied to roofing materials, siding, decks, fencing, and surrounding landscaping. These eco-friendly solutions are designed to reduce flame spread and slow combustion when exposed to high heat or embers.

The coating forms a protective barrier that helps lower ignition potential and reduce fire intensity on treated surfaces. Annual or scheduled reapplication ensures continued performance. When combined with roof sprinkler systems and defensible space practices, these coatings become part of a comprehensive wildfire mitigation strategy tailored to the property.
